The series documents the at-home lives of comedians and the women who share the spotlight with them. Among those highlighted: New Rochelle resident Erik Rivera, his wife, Katie, and toddler son.
The series also stars funnymen Brandon T. Jackson, DeRay Davis Michael Blackson, and Adam Hunter
Rivera told Daily Voice he hopes people watching the show get to see the other side of comedy. "All comedy comes from real life, so all of the people I talk about in my act are real," he said. "I may be a comedian but I'm going through the same things you are. The only difference is instead of going to therapy, I'm talking about it on stage and getting laughs."
Viewers will see Rivera's relationship tested as he and his wife work to juggle their career goals and family responsibilities. The couple currently live in Los Angeles.
With quick wit, commanding stage presence, charisma and an infectious smile, Rivera has become a favorite act at comedy clubs, events and colleges across the country. Of Puerto Rican and Guatemalan descent, he jokes that he’s not your typical Latino since he grew up in the Westchester suburbs and is “more like a lion who grew up in a zoo."
Mostly, though, he said he hopes the owners of New Rochelle's Town Pizza will watch so he might get some free slices when he's in town.
