A new candidate announced they are running for a state representative spot in the upcoming election Saturday at an event hosted by the Cambria County Republican Committee.
At the Pancakes and Petitions breakfast at the Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship Church, several state representatives and county officials were present.
At the event, Amy Bradley announced she is looking to be on the republican ticket, running for state representative of Pennsylvania’s 72nd District.
Bradley would be running opposite the incumbent for the position, Frank Burns.
Bradley is currently serving as the president and CEO of the Cambria County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Bradley said, “It's simple. I'm running because I really love this area and I want to see more positive representation for this area. I'm a great collaborator. I can work with all kinds of people and there certainly are issues that we need to solve, but I also think there's a lot of good things happening and I want to make sure that people are aware of that as well.”
Organizers say about 20,000 invites were sent out for the event, expecting between 500 and 1,000 people to show up.
